Lord, open heart and eyes that we may see,
And touch our ears, that, speaking, you are heard.
While groping blind and captive though we be,
Though walking man appear as walking tree,
And though our feet may sink into the sea,
Keep us within Thy ever-spoken Word;
That after night-long labor, when we meet,
We say with Thy beloved, “It is the Lord!”
